Matt joined Sentio in 2016 as a Chartered Accountant, having previously spent five years across Big 4 and mid-tier firms where he worked with a range of clients from large international listed clients through to smaller owner managed businesses. He came with significant experience offering statutory financial processes and general business advice before adding to this knowledge by completing his “Diploma in Corporate Finance”.
Matt can help with all kinds of Corporate Finance services aside from the normal acquisition and disposal processes including financial modelling, raising finance, shaping management information, and providing strategic advice to prepare a business for a future sale.
He finds the job most rewarding when he can advise clients through complex financial situations or where he can provide support to businesses looking to achieve the next stage of growth.
Previously Matt has advised on the sale of several non-core assets for both large international organisations and Central Government. Other more recent deals have been across corporate communications, renewable energy, and healthcare sectors.
More about Matt
Matt lives in North Leeds and tries to commute to work on foot or by bike whenever possible. Although Matt’s competitive football days are over, he maintains his fitness playing a wide range of sports, golf and cycling in particular. He is always looking for a good endurance challenge having previously completed the National 3 Peaks (twice), a continuous 100km walk across the South Downs in under 24 hours, and running the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, all in search of being ready for Everest one day…
Matt uses his commercial experience and financial qualifications to support a local homelessness charity Simon on the Streets, where he has been the Treasurer for the past two years. He feels this is a great way to support those who are less fortunate in life and finds it acts as a constant reminder to be grateful for what we have.
