Sentio has advised shareholders Tony and Elaine Lutkin on the successful sale of Sheffield based Mac’Ants Abrasives to the Samuel Hodge Group. Led by Tony and Elaine, the business has grown steadily over the last 40 years with recent turnover in excess of £6million.
Underpinned by a number of high profile accreditations in the automotive and military sectors, Mac’Ants has become one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, importers and distributors of industrial abrasive material.
Led by Hamish Kinmond and Neal Crisford, the Samuel Hodge Group is a privately owned British group of engineering companies with a long established history dating back to 1897, generating turnover in excess of £18million in 2014. The Hodge Clemco Division specialises in the manufacture and supply of abrasive blasting and surface treatment equipment.
Commenting on the deal Will Arnold said: “Mac’Ants is a highly successful business with an established position in the abrasives market. With its complementary products and customer base the business represents an excellent strategic fit with Samuel Hodge’s blasting and surface treatment equipment business. Having established Mac’Ants in 1973, the shareholders were keen to find an acquirer that would continue to uphold the values of the business and allow it to grow and develop as part of the enlarged group.”
The Sentio team comprised Will Arnold and Andrew Barlow.
