Sentio Partners has advised the shareholders The Davy Group on a sale of the group to Barnet Europe. Aachen based textiles business Barnet Europe, acquired the trade and assets of the Ilkley based textiles merchant which generates c.£8m annual revenues. The Davy Group traces its history back to 1895 when the great grandfather of the current owner established the Bradford Waste Pulling Co. Subsequent generations have seen huge changes in the Bradford textiles industry, and the business has adapted to become a leading international specialist in recycled and virgin technical fibres and yarns.
The two businesses have had a close relationship for many years and the transaction will allow them to collaborate even more closely. The combination of similar histories and philosophies, knowledge, supply, distribution and processing capabilities will greatly expand activities in all forms of recycled and virgin technical fibres and yarns. The people and locations will remain the same, however, The Davy Group Ltd will now operate within Barnet Europe as a business unit known Barnet Davy Technical Fibres.
Barnet Europe is part of the Barnet Group of companies that has a presence, either processing or buying and selling of fibres, yarns and polymers, in over 70 countries worldwide.
The Davy Group was advised by Will Arnold and Matthew Tollefson of Sentio Partners.
